PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: The purpose of the General Education Associate position is to, under general supervision, provide supervision for students across the school day.
3 hrs/day
Beginning Hourly Rate: $15.88/hr
This position is part-time and is not eligible for health insurance benefits.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
1. Ability to operate a variety of standard office equipment including computer, printer, ten-key calculator, copy machine, telephone, etc.
2. Effective oral and written communiation skills.
3. Must be able to interact in a positive manner with students, faculty, parents, and other staff members.
4. Knowledge of School District policies and procedures.
Education:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
1. Some experience with supervising children preferred.
Equipment:
1. Office equipments such as cell phone, multi-line phone system, copiers, and computers.
2. Assistive devices such as wheelchairs and walkers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Supervise students in lunchroom, hallway, playground, and classroom.
2. Assist students with self-care needs when appropriate.
3. Assist main office and guidance office with any projects or assignments as needed.
4. Maintain student work areas in a neat and orderly manner.
5. Perform clerical tasks such as making phone calls, filing, and maintaining student records as needed.
6. Report incidents of an unusual nature to teacher and principal.
7. Knowledge of emergency procedures for building and classroom.
8. Maintain confidentiality.
9. Maintain reliable attendance record.
10. Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION OF OTHERS:
- None
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Satisfactory health as certified by a competent medical authority upon hire.
- Repetitious bending, lifting, and hand movement.
- Ability to work while standing, moving and/or walking.
- Drug, tobacco, and alcohol-free while working.
- Must be able to see and hear within normal limits with or without corrective lenses or hearing aids.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle used to travel between sites.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Majority of work is performed in an office or school setting.
- Occasional meetings outside the school day.
- Occasional exposure to body fluids, fumes, noise, and hazardous materials and emergency situations.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- At-will employee.
- Letter of Assignment.
- Per Board Policies and administrative guidelines.
- Performance evaluated annually.
